# Your First AI Scan

How to add cards by photo, follow AI scans in progress, fix the cards that need you on the Review page, and handle credit limits or retries.

## Adding a Card by Photo

1. Open the Add sheet: Click `Add cards` in the navigation or on your collection page to open the Add sheet.

2. Choose photo import: Click `Photograph cards` ("Snap or drop photos. AI fills in the details.").

3. Upload card photos: Drop front and back photos into `Drop images here or click to browse` (or click `Browse files`; on mobile, tap `Take a photo` or `Choose from library`). Photos pair automatically in the order added (front, then back).

4. Configure options: Optionally select a `Storage location` (e.g., Box 1, Row 2) to display on pick lists. Ensure `AI scan` and `AI price` are switched on. The estimated credit balance is shown below the toggles.

5. Start import: Click `Add cards`. Each card is identified and priced in the background.

## What Happens During the Scan

1. Keep this tab open: Photos upload from this browser tab. Moving to another page in the app is fine, but closing or reloading the tab stops any upload that has not finished, and the app asks before you leave. Cards already added stay in your collection; open one and click `Rescan` to scan it again.

2. Follow progress: The pill in the page header (the top bar on a phone) counts the cards as they become ready. Click it, `Go to review` on the progress banner, or `Review` in the sidebar (on a phone, tap `More`, then `Review`). In progress shows each batch of cards being identified and priced.

3. Pause: Click `Pause` on a batch to hold all AI work, and `Resume` to carry on.

4. Finished: Batches that finished recently are listed under Finished. Click `See the cards` to open them in your collection.

## Fixing the Cards That Need You

1. The badge: The gold number next to `Review` counts the cards that need you. The page shows the same number.

2. Groups: Cards are grouped by what they need: one detail the AI was unsure of, a possible duplicate of a card already in your collection, a card the AI could not identify, a photo problem, or a listing that did not publish to eBay.

3. Fix a card: Click a card, or its `Check`, `Compare`, `Identify`, `Fix` or `Fix listing` button, to open it. Correct the details with `Edit`, or click `Rescan` to scan it again.

4. Start at the top: the Check button on the unsure-detail group opens its first card.

## Scan Failures and AI Credits

1. Monthly allowances: Identifying a card consumes 1 AI credit. Pricing a card consumes 1 AI credit. Free plans include 50 credits per calendar month (UTC); Pro plans include 1,000 credits per calendar month.

2. Free rescans: After the first scan, a card can be rescanned up to 5 times at no cost, and repriced up to 5 times a month at no cost.

3. Failed scans use zero credits: If a scan fails or an image cannot be read, no credit is deducted from your balance.

4. Retrying failed scans: Cards whose photo could not be read appear on `Review` with a `Fix` button. Open the card and click `Add photo` to replace the photo, or `Rescan` to try again. You can also click `Type details` to fill in information manually.

5. Credit limits: When monthly credits run out, new AI scans wait until your allowance resets on the 1st of the next month (UTC); `Review` shows them as waiting for credits. Click `Get credits` to add more, or `Add without AI` to keep the cards with their photos and fill in the details yourself. You can also add cards manually via `Type in one card` or import photos with AI toggles switched off.
